MoT’s


In the majority of cases we can provide a collection and delivery service for our customers MoT requirements. This will normally be arranged from their homes or from work depending on circumstances.

We have been asked many times to carry out pre-mot’s for customers and in the majority of cases we decline to do this, the reasoning being that:-

A. You have 28 days to MoT the vehicle before the original test runs out, if the vehicle passes the new test any time remaining on the old MoT is automatically added to the new one so you do not lose out.

B. Why spend money on a pre-mot and then again on an MoT when you can find out anything that needs rectifying on the vehicle with the MoT and you still have 10 working days to present the vehicle for re-test FREE of charge.

There are of course exceptions to this eg. a vehicle which could easily be beyond economical repair.

By using the history of our customers vehicles we can in most cases make a good assumption on how that vehicle will fare in the MoT and usually if repairs are required they are done on the day of the MoT so that the customer can have the vehicle returned fully working and tested.

Minor item such as bulbs or windscreen wipers we will replace, but anything more costly we will seek authorisation for prior to starting the work. Headlamp aim is adjusted when necessary as a matter of course.
